hi, mika! thank-you for the message. I like good food too! especially sashimi, ripe mangos, and dark chocolate. I've been here a while but only recently learned of tech hui. my son is a programmer (and guitar musician, as am i), but I'm merely one interested in programming. mainly to write a few programs for the iphone that i wish were out there but probably won't be. i plan to ease into photography as my main way of right livleyhood. I also like riding horses, traveling, and various types of art projects.
I notice you wear several hats at work. I've always preferred that. keeps things interesting. I learned over time that I'm good at organising, creative problem solving, and effective use of resourses and people.

but I prefer working on my own, often. let's see, what else? in chinese astrology I'm a lucky, benevolent pig. western symbology casts me as waterbearer, with the prometheus tale from greekmythology (he stole fire from the gods to give to humans). in my former life (on mainland) I was a freelance editor, mainly nonfiction, especially science, social science, and how-to. i'ved loved books as much as life itself, but I've...given them up! my reading is online, and mainly for information. I've been paid to write and paint as well, tho only new media tempts me these days.
as my teacher on the mainland would say: tashi dekek! (good fortune to you!)
I hope adding you as friend is ok. its nice to have one--virtual is fine--in a new group.

HI Mika,

Yes I'm moving to Hawaii with Superb. Thanks for the site info. I hope to find this place useful but I have a history of not really using forums/social networking sites for any extended period of time. Perhaps this is one of the few places that breaks that pattern.

Aloha

Thanks for your message, I took your advice and posted the below on the jobs page. Would you know of anyone in particular you could reccomend who could fit the mold for the below? Thankyou very much for the help, I'm grateful:)

I am creating an MMORGP game with a purpose of creating a better world through education and technology. We're in need of very strong flash programmers.

Do you know flash and want to help the world or know of anyone who does? And please send examples of flash work.

;) the official Google board. I'm working on mine right now, custom board with my logo etc.
It epitomizes my life, as I embrace lifestyle and career. There was a time when I felt a conflict of interest (technology vs da aina). I guess its about balance.
Thanks for the message...

Mika,
Thanks for the information. I will join some groups. I think I will start with the PHP group because I want to get some feedback on how effective some PHP PDO code I have been using is at preventing SQL injection attacks.
