News & Announcements

Aloha All !

I Just wanted to let all of our friends on Tech Hui know about 2 things going on with us.

1) We desperately need some parts in inventory. If you have any or know of anyone that might be able to spare some, of all things we are short of.... power cords !  we have 600 computers right now and all of about 20 power cords.  We also need mice (we have about 16), and flat panel monitors.(we have 8)

We will be at our storage most of this week preparing for the event on the 2nd. So if you want to make arrangements to drop anything off, please contact me. 352.8800 or email : Curtis@HawaiianHope.org

2) Hawaiian Hope is a diamond sponsor of this years Hawaii Children and Youth Day event, at the state capitol Sunday October 2nd.  www.HawaiiCYD.org  .As a diamond sponsor we designed their website, data management, database, online forms and payment processing.  In addition we are giving away 50 computers during the event.

----- Press Release -----

Beyond all of the conversations on financial crisis, financial uncertainty, budget cuts and talks of tax increases, take a breath of fresh air and read of something wonderful !

On Monday May 9th, Hawaiian Hope is going to make 105 dreams come true.

Hawaiian Hope through The Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center and Hau'ula Elementary School will be hosting a special evening designed to start something wonderful and have a life lasting impact. On Monday May 9th, every student in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades, 105 students in all, will receive as a gift a full computer system to take home. These computers are not on loan, but a personal gift for students to keep, learn, have fun with and enjoy.

Hawaiian Hope is accomplishing this feat while working out of the Simply Storage, self storage facility since our eviction caused by the tax increases imposed by city council. In essence we are working out of a couple of garage bays. If we can accomplish this working out of a couple of garage bays, imagine what we could accomplish if we actually had our own building ?

Here is the dilemma...  after this event, we will still have 700 computers in stock. (yes, 700 !)  However, we are completely out of mice, keyboards, flat panel monitors, hard drives and even .... power cords ? (go figure that one)

In fact, we are short 30 PS2 mice for the event, 5 flat panel monitors and about 10 keyboards.

We NEED Hardware ! Small kine stuffs to make the bigger stuff work right.

Items we are always low on are :

1) Flat panel monitors.

2) Hard Drives, 40 gig and larger, we can certify a data wipe if you need us to.

3) RAM chips - 256 meg and larger - any style.

4) Mice. PS2 especially.

5) Keyboards.

Your donations are greatly appreciated by us, and those that you help out.

ps...  $$$ donations are always welcome too... hehehehe

Check out our website and projects page at : http://www.hawaiianhope.org/Projects.asp

We are currently operating out of the "SIMPLY STORAGE"  (http://simplystoragehawaii.com/)  self storage facility located directly next to Best Buy in Honolulu, 500 Alakawa.  Please contact us ASAP and make arrangements to drop off your donations. I will be there most of the day for the next few days, often till about 8 PM.

THANK YOU !
