Aloha! Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Jeremy Yadao. I'm a senior at the Art Institute of Portland majoring in the game art and design program. I'm originally from Hilo Hawaii. Im a 3D modeler and texture artist and I also do concept art aswell. I work in photoshop, 3DS Max, Maya and the Unreal engine. I did a Sony mentorship production where I was a level designer and a texture monkey. I would love to return home for some work, but it seems like work might be limited. Any info would be appreciated!
Mahalos, Jeremy
Hi All,
Just to let you know that we have started to arrange some networking meetings for local game devs where we can hang out, network and share knowledge and opportunities.
The first one will be a board game night. Join up here:
Sorry to hear that guys. This is such as rollercoaster industry.
If you just want to hang out with like-minded people, or try creating a new and different game prototype that you couldn't before, then you are very welcome at our Honolulu site for the Global Game Jam http://www.techhui.com/events/global-game-jam-honolulu / globalgamejam.org
Good luck!,
Gorm
In case anyone hadn't heard, Avatar Reality went through a restructuring last on the 14th. Development on Blue Mars ceased and the majority of the company was laid off. Avatar is still working on a mobile app as a companion to Blue Mars and the Blue Mars servers are still running.
Meanwhile a number of us are now looking for work so if anyone needs designers, engineers, qa, or project management let me know and I'll get you in touch with the right people.
