The Global Game Jam is an event where professionals, indies and students alike from all over the World come together to make games together over the course of a single weekend. This time, GGJ is expecting over 5000 people from 162 locations in 43 countries.
Last minute we have now managed to secure a location here in Honolulu as well, and therefore invite everyone from the islands to come and participate in this exciting global event. All skill-sets and backgrounds are welcome. It does not matter if you are student just starting out with fresh ideas, an experienced programmer or artist from a different field that just want to try your hand at game development, or a battle-hardened game developer that want to try your hand at something different than what you usually do. Everyone is welcome.
To find out more and register for this free event, please go to http://globalgamejam.org/. You can also feel free to take a look at some of the many YouTube videos we have, including this coverage from Boing Boing or thekeynote from 2009 . This year's event will be keynoted by famous game designer Keita Takahashi, and takes place from Friday January 28th to January 30th 2011. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Gorm Lai, gorm@globalgamejam.org or post here.
