Someone on AI Dreams had posted a link somewhere and since I could not remember where, I checked my Firefox History logs and located the chat page with Suzette. I was kind of disappointed that there was no mention of the bot's name, developer / creator's name, history, about, news nor anything else to indicate what type of bot, how or where it originated, etc. Suzette suddenly became a mystery wrapped in an enigma. ;)
My friends and I were initially trying to determine the voting thing to which Suzette alluded. We though but weren't sure whether it was the chatterbox challenge or not but now we know.
BTW, It does look as if the word was spreading rather well about Suzette and her abilities (or would that be your abilities...lol!).
She seems to quite ahead in the voting polls = good thing!!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I found this forum only after repeated chatting with Suzette. She is the one who led me in the right direction after I asked her the "right" questions. All I had initially to go on was the http://126.96.36.199/chat/ URL. I traced the addy to Avatar Reality then googled it to find several sites. After Suzette told me her creator was Bruce Wilcox and not knowing whether such a person actually existed, I used the name in a search window on the link to this site and the rest, as they say, is history!
A good deal of detective work but I always like a challenge. I've been talking to and experimenting with chatbots for almost 30 years so I'm not a novice to them! Like Ray, I'm waiting for the Singularity. ;)
Actually I'm more into chatbots and AI than I am social networking and alternate realities but I do find both interesting.
Thanks again and have a great weekend!!
I've spread the word about Suzette to some members of an AI site in the UK as well as here in the states. We all view Suzette as a breath of fresh air in the chatbot arena. "Her" topic flow, knowledge and wit help keep the conversation engaging and interesting.
Have you considered releasing it as a stand alone chatbot program? Great work!
