ACM chapter and or IEEE CS would be good. Is there any ACM special interest group you have in mind or just maui acm chapter and we'd have range of topics?

If there is interest in a meetup week after next, I'd be up for that. Should have some Maui Maker news by then... maybe give a brief on plans.

The ACM aka Association for Computer Machinery doesn't have a Hawaii chapter any more. We need at least 10 people to form a chapter. If we had a chapter, it would be easier to help bring conferences to Hawaii. (ideally Maui) Any interest?

Yeah, that's a *great* new feature. First, I'll send a note to Dan thanking him for it. And then I'll be a greedy bastard and hold out hope for the ability to actually *reply* to the thread via email as well....

Seems to be. I sent a note to Brandyn a few days ago. BTW I flaked and didn't schedule a dinner for this month - something came up that I wouldn't have made it anyway. I'm inclined to wait, and schedule it for the week after the Election.

I called Bob at Pacific Biodiesel. It looks like they have someone working on it.

Pacific Biodiesel is having some enterprise server challenges and needs some one to come by TODAY to help restart their servers. Their current server consultant is on the mainland and will guide the process from long distance.

Call Bob King at 283-4102 if you can help.

Hey Kids,

Crystal and I are moving this week, from one upcountry pad (95 Miner, Makawao) to another (141 Pulehu, Kula). Since we're semi-nomadic, we don't have a ton of stuff, but we seem to have become encumbered with several items of furniture that now require gentle coaxing from one house to the other. If anyone might be able to assist, that would be much appreciated. The fun begins early this Thursday morning. I would especially appreciate a few extra hands on Thursday (10am at 95 Miner) and all day Saturday (10am on). If you can help then, or anytime over the next week, please email me -- garrett.lisi@gmail.com . If we get a few people on Saturday, we'll order pizza or something.

-Garrett

I should add that the Akaku parking lot will have a big screen TV and sound system, DJ, and food.

Sounds tasty...where is the Arakawa headquarters? There will be lots of election night parties tomorrow. If you are not tied to particular candidates the Akaku Center parking lot will again be happening tomorrow night. If you are roving with a laptop they will be receiving skype video calls for broadcast both over cable and the Internet. Most of all, be sure to vote!

If inappropriate, I will delete (or feel free to delete):
Arakawa is having a potluck dinner tomorrow at his HQ starting at 6p for Election night until the last count is announced (between 11p & 1a). HQ is also open all day (open at 7a) with a light breakfast and snacks throughout the day. This is local-style potluck so it will be a real treat. I will bring 2 large trays of salad and 2 trays of lemongrass chicken.
