About Me:
I am a researcher in the theory of evolutionary dynamics, applied to both evolutionary computation and biological evolution. I use mathematical and numerical analysis.

I have taught for several summers at the Complex Systems Summer School in Beijing by the Santa Fe Institute and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. I have been a member of the "FIghting Modern Malware" group at the Santa Fe Institute.

Being one of the few evolutionary biologists on Maui, I have felt an obligation to help conservation efforts for Hawaii's world renowned biodiversity.

My diversions include Tango, Salsa, Lindy Hop, and violin.

I was the online teacher for Discrete Math II in the ICS Dept. at UH Manoa from 2002-2007, working from Maui, so my main interactions in ICS were with Martha Crosby. My other academic communities are the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and the Santa Fe Institute.
