A few of his more visible projects include: AirPort wireless networking for Apple, productization of the Apple ATG printed handwriting recognizer for the Newton, Spreadsheet engine for Ashton Tate's spreadsheet Full Impact, a distributed multi-processor operating system for factory automation at Motorola New Enterprises, and a telemetry system for flood management at the Tennessee Valley Authority . Mr. Vogel’s projects have been reviewed in both Time Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. His current research interests include: XML databases (P2P; compression; XQuery; XUpdate; Distributed Queries; Security; IR); Semantic Web (Ontologies; OWL; DAML; Description Logics; Knowledge Management; Data Fusion; Data Integration); Self Configuring Systems (Autonomic Computing; Ease of Use); Network Security(Cyber War).
