They are being busy on Oahu. Neil Abercrombie just launched his Technology and Innovation Platform - see http://www.neilabercrombie.com/index.php/technology. I am in touch with friends in his campaign and he wants to come and talk to Maui techies some tim in July to talk about the plan and get input for tweaking and implementation assuming he gets elected.

Sorry I was unable to make last night's get together.

I am over on Oahu attending the Tech Enterprise 2010 Conference organized by PICTHR featuring their two research funding programs HTDV (HI Tech Development Venture) and HREDV (HI Renewable Energy Development Venture). About 46 companies have received grants over the last six years, 8 of which are Maui companies or have a significant Maui presence.

Many of these companies are giving short ten minute presentations on what they are doing. The good news (which I just learned at the conf...might have stayed on Maui if I knew) is that they are streaming the conf. Go to http://www.hawaiirenewable.com/events/tech-enterprise-2010/streaming/

You seen recordings from earlier today, or watch live tomorrow!

I've scheduled next months a week early. 7/13 Tuesday @ 6pm

Combining the Techies w/ GTUG will be good, I hope, until they each grow too big.
