Who wants a free cloud instance for a year?
I *love* AWS and Rackspace cloud.

It started with a rare, treatable, form of Pancreatic Cancer. He then had the Liver Transplant as Don has mentioned. He's quite lucky to be alive. Watching the video, it really felt like the exec's were practicing to take his job. Phil looked the best I've seen him at it. A lot better than Tim Cook. It did seem like you had to be a VP or higher to use the word Gorgeous.

reichart - yeah I was reading the Scully interview just before watching and it had some pics of Steve with Scully. Ouch. Its been a tough year or three for him. Rumor was Pancreatic Cancer? I've lost friends to that.

Some time ago there was a bit of discussion about being able to recreate tech to connect to the internet from scratch. I dont recall just when, and cant find it now, but here's an article on a guy in New Jersey who created a primative telegraph out of only tools he found in woods (except for lighter 'cause he couldnt use a fire bow well). His comment at the end about having other people around to help was interesting, but he missed one point --- without the other people there isnt much utility to the telegraph in the first place. Immaculate Telegraphy Article

The next MIT forum teleconference is this Wednesday, from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Maui Research & Tech Center. Go to http://www.mitforum-atlanta.org/index.php for more information on who will be speaking, etc.

I had hoped to send a reminder earlier. Hopefully you can make it. We do have the option of scheduling these in pau hana time, but we lose the ability to participate via questions/comments with the live event.

Bring a brown-bag lunch. Last month we had about eight people participating. We network locally before and after (and give provide each other meaningful glances and pass around notes during) :)

IEEE has a Hawaii chapter. They've come over two years ago and are willing to help.
