Thanks Ray! This UHMC/IEEE event looks to be interesting.
Maui Makers is planning a display/activity table/area. I understand the amateur radio club will also be there. I will have to leave for our regular thursday Public Night at makers in pu'unene (6-9pm), but you and all others are welcome to come over after the student presentations and panel, etc.
Tomorrow April 19 2013 the students of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) club at UH Maui College campus are organizing our first Engineering Innovation Day (EID). This is an event where students in Engineering programs will demonstrate their engineering projects they have been working on year long.
Although this is Engineering based, all students are welcome to bring their
innovations to the EID and display them. Prior notice is required for
coordination purposes.
With EID we hope to bring to the campus and local community the good work
our students do during the year. We hope you can come and attend it.
Projects will be put on demo starting 1:30 pm (right after the on campus job
fair) in the foyer area of the new Science building. Projects will be put on
display till 4:30 pm when we will take a break for the ABIT students
capstone presentations in Ka'a'ike 109. Following this we will have a panel
discussion in the new Science building. Refreshments will be provided. Please come!
It's still going to be on Friday 28 Dec at 5pm.
I got a Raspberry Pi to bring and show (assuming I get time to get it running).
Les, we've got some serious competition of that 4th Friday in Kihei. I might do a little demo of what I've been doing with Ruby on Rails, and maybe Ben do a quick demo of cheqbook.com.
That's the date of the new Fourth Friday in Kihei.
I just did an invite for dinner on 12/28. More details to come soon.
Apologies -- we do have a Email invitation for the Science Building dedication -- send your request of interest to me, at the Email listed below, and I will send you an Email invitation. You MUST RSVP to the phone number listed in the Invitation, though. See you there at Maui's most transformational building in January!
Wish I could make it. That's two days before TEDxMaui, so I'll be up to my neck. Post pictures!
For any Maui Techies interested in attending our invitation-only dedication of the UHMC new Science building on January 11, 2013, send me your snail mailing address to me via Email ray.tsuchiyama ATSIGN gmail DOT com
