Went to the Boston Career Forum last month. Was a nice break from warm Island life for a few days. Managed to land 5 interviews while I was there. I have made it passed the 2nd round for one company in Tokyo. It has been a month since my second interview and trying push things forward. Any recommendations as how to continue without killing my chances?

Fox,

FYI, JET isn't exclusively English teaching positions. I have a friend who is a graphic designer and JET placed him in a job in his field. Opportunities like this are open to people who already have some command of the language. Anyway, best of luck to you!

Not sure what kind of 職歴 you have, but you may want to try the bilingual headhunters in Tokyo. A friend of mine runs NinePoint - you might want to try him. I know you probably don't want to do the 英会話先生 thing, but it could be a foot in the door for you to get over there.

Fox,

JET seems to be a good foot in the door option for a lot of people. If you haven't already, you should give them a look:

Good luck -- hope things work out for you.

Good luck, Fox! Maybe you should mention what kind of work you're looking for and a link to your resume?

Here's an interesting web site with night views of all areas of Japan:
