Brian joined Apple in early 2004 working simultaneously on .Mac (membership based service with over a million members) and iTunes. In his early days at Apple, Brian was part of the iTunes Europe launch, the first version of Motion (Apple's motion graphics application), and various .Mac services.
In 2005 Brian was promoted to lead the .Mac User Interface Engineering team. His team was a key part of many .Mac products including the launch of Groups, conversion of site to French and German, relaunch of Webmail, launch of iDisk web based webdav browser, support of Tiger (OS X 10.4), and the relaunch and redesign of Welcome.
Brian was a member of the .Mac team that wrote some of the first web applications for the iPhone launch in 2007. He is a co-applicant on two patents pending with this work. In 2007, he led the team in the successful launch of the .Mac Web Gallery.
Prior to joining Apple in 2004, Brian worked at Incyte Corporation as the lead web developer for their corporate site. He worked with the web application engineering team to launch the Proteome Bioknowledge Library as well as the relaunch of Gene by Gene. Brian also gained experience in the web application development field while working at places such as Cisco in 2001 and NorthPoint Communications in 2000.
Brian also runs a successful web application development company, Dotestudios as a freelance web developer.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii where he currently resides, Brian earned his BA Zoology degree from the University of Hawaii and his MS Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University.
