Hey everyone, how's the job prospects for a 3d artist in Hawaii now?  My specialty is game production modeling.  Low and high poly modeling.  I use, 3DS max, Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop.  I have some experience with UDK.  I really would like to come home to work, but I cant seam to find anything.

I'm looking for a freelance developer who can consult with us on some issues related to HTML5... specifically, whether two educational games that we'll be developing in the next few months would be good candidates (vs. doing them in Flash). I'd like to add

AD/M Creative Experiences to Daniel's list.

I don't know much about them but they do motion picture VFX as well as advertising and seem to need 3D artists and compositors.

Aloha Jeremy. Here are a few local companies who hire 3D modelers, animators and texture artists:

Hawaii Animation Studios (3D animation shop - the largest in Hawaii)

Hyperspective Studios (2D & 3D animation, VFX, film and video shop - very cool small shop)

3D Hawaii (funded startup)

You may also want to chat with GB Hajim who has a studio on the Big Island. They do some really interesting work. You can check them out on Facebook.
