Did you know public and private Hawaii-based entities have allocated $80M collectively for their investment portfolios dedicated to Hawaii ventures?
The Hawaii venture capital market enters a new era supported by a strong foundation of local institutional investor commitment. Hawaii institutional investors including The State of Hawaii Employees’ Retirement System, through their Hawaii Targeted Investment Program (HiTIP) The Hawaii Strategic Development Corporation (HSDC), and Kamehameha Schools, through their Hawaii Targeted Investment Program (HTI), have collectively allocated approximately $80 million of their investment portfolio to Hawaii venture capital opportunities. The challenge for entrepreneurs and early stage investors is to build businesses that can successfully compete for and attract this investment capital.
The 2011 Hawaii Venture Capital Summit will highlight the investment strategies of Hawaii’s institutional investors and provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to interact and get to know the fund managers executing these investment programs. The 2011 Hawaii Venture Capital Summit will also showcase successful Hawaii entrepreneurs that have raised capital and are building businesses with global reach, as well as, provide a select group of up and coming entrepreneurs a stage to describe the opportunities they are pursuing to build the next generation of successful companies.
Representatives from Arsenal Venture Partners, Azure Capital Partners, Epic Ventures, Polaris Venture Partners, Startup Capital Ventures, TEM Capital, MPM Capital, and the UPSIDE Fund will participate.
