The BABOK v2.0 (2009: 226) defines Elicitation as "An activity within requirements development that identifies sources for requirements and then uses elicitation techniques (e.g., interviews, prototypes, facilitated workshops, documentation studies) to gather requirements from those sources."

"Eliciting requirements is a key task in business analysis. Because the requirements serve as the foundation for the solution to the business needs it is essential that the requirements be complete, clear, correct, and consistent." (2009: 53)

mind mapping is used for documenting requirements in a visual manner.

While I have used mind mapping for brainstorming, I have transcribed the output into other models. Has anyone maintained their requirements in a mind map format on an ongoing basis?
