Hawaiʻi's Technology Community

Is there a freelance web developer community here in Hawaii? If so -- does anyone have information (urls, contacts, etc)?

I'm interested in networking with freelancers locally, I've moved back home from California recently (well gosh, its been a year but it feels like yesterday!) and I'm trying to get acquainted with what's available out here, etc.

Thanks! Dote.

Ah interesting ... thanks for the link!
Hi Haken, do you network with other local freelancers?

I'm somewhat of a freelancer since I build fluff sites and sites for non-profit organizations. I haven't figured out how to work with commercial clients yet.
He he he, I guess you're right -- tho the synergy could be great, as in, you land a project that requires 3 developers, or, requires someone with expertise in that you don't have, etc. etc.

Heh. That's something I never really understood too much. Then again. I'm not sure how many freelancers enjoy networking with their direct competition. I mean, if you are doing local work and they are as well, I would guess you'd be competing for the same clients.

Not to say that it's not good to network with others of course. I'm all up for that. And I would definitely like to meet other freelancers in the local area.

Makes me think back to the old days of youth sports leagues/teams and their rivalries. : )
