SproutCore really looks interesting. I'm starting to check it out. Does anybody have any experience with it?
SproutCore looks promising, but its still pretty buggy with any browser other than Safari. Try dragging around the categories (folders on the left) in the example application using Firefox. It also currently has a very limited set of widgets.

Flex/Flash works almost flawlessly with all major browsers, has an elegant programming model, and is quite mature. SproutCore has a long way to go before it becomes serious competition. I really think Apple should partner with Google and the GWT project to put forward the best possible web widgets.
I work at Apple in the MobileMe org, in fact I was Charles Jolley's manager when he first started (I ran the UI engineering team). As you may know, Charles is the CEO of SproutIt and is the engineer behind SproutCore. While we've adopted SproutCore and its got a lot of buzz my personal feeling is that its far from ready for primetime. I would voice more of my opinions but don't know how secure this community discussion board is =) Would hate for my comments to get indexed by Google. Suffice to say, folks either love it or hate it with few folks in-between the two extremes.

If Apple continues to pour money and resources into this open-source framework then perhaps things will improve but I agree with Daniel, there are other solutions out there that are more elegant, less buggy, and more platform agnostic.
Cappuccino is out and they have this to say about SproutCore, fwiw ....

"On the other end of the existing frameworks are technologies like SproutCore. While SproutCore set out with similar goals to Cappuccino, it takes a distincly different approach. It still relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Prototype, and an entirely new and unique set of APIs. It also requires special development software and a cumbersome compilation step. We think this is the wrong approach."
