November Newsletter

After a peculiar lull early in the month we finished strong with membership blowing past 500 and the heaviest monthly traffic to date. New interest groups include Film and Television, Freehacker's Union, Second Life, Healthcare IT and FreeBSD. We added a new forum for people to promote their tech resumes and started work on a directory for local companies to promote their tech products and services. The blog has been busy with posts from Peter Kay, Scott Murphy, Aaron Kagawa and Blaine Fergerstrom.

It was a busy month for techies on Oahu. Social media evangelist Roxanne Darling and the PodCamp Hawaii 2008 team put together a great event at the Hawaii Convention Center. The Hawaii Entrepreneur Investor Pitch Competition sponsored by Enterprise Honolulu, HiBEAM and HTDC kicked off and the first Freehackers Union meetup was hosted by Sid Savara and Shawn Drost.
