Hawaiʻi's Technology Community

Aloha TechHuians,

There are only a few more days to register for the TechHui conference happening on Dec. 10 at UH Manoa. The conference features everything from Garrett Lisi presenting his Geometric Theory of Everything to an Ignite session covering mobile app design & development, game development, 3D printing, lost technologies and more. Other sessions include Kukui Cup (Gamification of Energy Conservation), Social Media, Gov. Tech and 3D CG & Animation. We've posted the schedule, speakers and bios.

Maui TechHuians Garrett Lisi and Reichart Von Wolfsheild have a new show on History Channel called Invention USA. The show premiers next Friday Dec 9th at 8pm HST. Its exciting to see two Hawaii guys making it happen. Thanks to Jerry Isdale for the heads up.

We have a number of great events coming up including City Camp and Code Retreat Hawaii happening tomorrow. Flash Camp is running on Sunday. The Hawaii Inventor's Club and HI Capacity's Soldering Workshop are happening on Dec. 13. HTDC is hosting the WetWare Networking Event on Dec. 28. Unconferenz is coming up on Feb. 26th. Don't forget to submit your ideas for sessions.

Congrats to the HPU team for winning the ACM International Programming Contest! Now we have two schools in Hawaii winning prestigious programming competitions.

The blog has a number of interesting posts this month including Julian Yap's Malware on the Rise on Android and Peter Kay's Platform First: Engineering a robust government web ecosystem.

We hope to see you on TechHui and at all the great events this holiday season!
