Next Meetup: Show & Tell

For this meeting, we will take a new approach. Every attendee will have 5-10 minutes to do one of the following:
  • Demonstrate a UI on which they are working
  • Show us a UI they like and explain why
  • Show us a UI they don't like and explain why

See the GUI Meetup event for details.

A message from Ryan to all members of GUI Meetup on TechHui!

Aloha! A friend of mine is a designer who wants to better understand the basic look-and-feel and interface elements common to "Web 2.0." Can anyone recommend any landmark or fundamental books or guides that address this from the ground up?

Often, we can see a "Web 2.0" site and know it's a "Web 2.0" site. Rounded corners here, AJAX notifications there, and so on. Obviously there's a school of thought influencing much of these commonalities, but where does one begin to understand and immerse oneself in it? One can only copy Flickr or Digg so far...
