There are high tech parks that cater to start ups, others for established biotech, chips and other tech companies. When I was at the high tech parks a few years back in Beijing and Southern China cities, I came across many project managers in tech and biotech companies were from the USA.

Hi Johnson, I just spent the summer in Chengdu and plan to make a semi-permanent move there in 2011. I haven't been to the high tech zones there yet as I heard that they only cater to startups that plan to have 100+ employees within two years. I wrote this blog post as part of my research into Chengdu.

Truman: Have you been to Chengdu or any high tech parks in China?

I'm hoping to start something like Manoa Geeks in Chengdu, China. Hopefully I'll be able to foster networking among web developers, build relationships myself and identify top-notch coders to one day hire for my own company.
