Come network with scientists, engineers, programmers, and other people in the tech business.

Speaker: Shannon Pierce, Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel

Legal issues facing small business, including intellectual property, and:

  • Types of trademarks and trademarks vs. domain names
  • The importance of invention assignment agreements
  • Open source code: benefits and risks
  • Is All This Worth It?  (How does a start-up afford all this legal protection?)
  • Enforceability of click licenses and terms of use
  • Privacy policies

Goodsill Anderson is actively supporting Hawaii entrepreneurs and Shannon has been most helpful to several of us on the Big Island.  It's great that she is meeting with us at our next Pau Hana.  I hope we have both an excellent turnout and an informative discussion.
