The Hawaiʻi State Science and Engineering Fair (HSSEF) is an enrichment program which stimulates interest in science and encourages entry into a science related career. Excellence of student achievement is recognized and rewarded. Students have the opportunity to interact with professional scientists and engineers in the program. Exhibits at school, district and state levels serve to educate the public about science and engineering.
HSSEF is the oldest and largest science education program in Hawaiʻi. Over 7,000 students participate in the science fair program each year, with about 500 reaching the HSSEF. The state fair is truly a collaborative effort and could not happen without the dedication of hundreds of volunteers.
Attendance: All Public & Private grade schools & high schools. Includes School & District level science fair reaches 7000+ students. State level science fair reaches 500+ students
