Better Place just made the announcement, 100,000 vehicle order to get things started. Hawaiian islands would be a natural place to test EV technology - small, isolated, environmentally conscious, etc.. Would love to see these cars here soon and be a part of EV evolution :)

I am am curious and also afraid the the status-quo petroleum based auto industry will do everything in their power (yet again) to stop this project; much in the same way that they were able to literally spitefully sabatoge & kill the progress of their own baby, the General Motors Corp "Impact EV1" (prototype electric car introduced in 1990) from GM's Saturn Division. See the 2006 documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car?" narrated by Martin Sheen & directed by Chris Paine (SONY Pictures).
