Agreed. Geothermal in Hawaii is a political problem not a technical one. Only when the green groups and native Hawaiian groups realize this will actually further their goals will this have a chance of making significant progress. The simple truth is there is enough ecologically and culturally sensitive stuff in the area, that legal costs can drive any project extinct.
