I met Henk about ten years ago just after he moved from Japan to Hawaii. He had a lot of fantastic stories about his adventures in Russia and Japan, and was full of ideas about what he wanted to accomplish in the gaming industry. His energy was contagious. Last month I enjoyed chatting with Henk over lunch about
and his ambitious
Blue Planet Foundation
. I'm happy to report that three years after the highly publicized $137 million acquisition of Blue Lava Wireless by Jamdat, Henk is not resting on his laurels. His energy is just as contagious today as it was a decade ago. Its also nice to see that despite his success he remains the same affable guy that has time to grab a meal with an old acquaintance.
Visionary Henk Rogers has launched many companies. Among the most recent include casual game portal Tetris Online, digital photo management developer Blue Lava Technologies, and massively-multiplayer online world builder Avatar Reality. But he is perhaps best known for bringing Tetris to the world market. Today, Henk’s mission "to end the use of carbon-based fuel in the world" has turned into action through the Blue Planet Foundation. Its goal is to change our world's energy culture by raising awareness and moving us toward clean, renewable energy.
