I had the luxury of being able to hire interaction designers, visual designers, prototypers, icon designers, illustrators, sound designers etc. when I was at Microsoft but my feeling is that here in Hawaii a "UX Designer" needs to be a jack of all trades... true? Typically, my role at Microsoft was to create a set of wireframes that then got translated and animated into a GUI that I directed but really was an orchestration of specialized talent.
Does a UX Designer need to be a jack of all trades here or are there opportunities more like an art director or interaction director?
