Apologies to those that were attending in 2011, my Spring and Summer semesters are just too full to organize meetings. If someone else want to carry the torch for awhile, I may be able to attend a…Continue

Text editors are really important, especially on Linux where chances are you're going to be editing text sooner than later. For a programmer, or a sysadmin, it's one of the most fundamental and…Continue

It's little things like right click on a folder and choose "Open As Administrator" or something like that.... allows you to open the folder as root... I tried that on my Ubuntu install and missed it when I needed it... Sometimes getting Java and codecs setup can be a hassle... nothing hugely time consuming, but it adds up... Not exactly what I want to be doing when I'm trying to get something done. Linux Mint also kept the Min/Restore/Close buttons on the upper right corner when Ubuntu switched, though I'm curious to see how they handle Ubuntu's adoption of the Unity interface... Should be several weeks until we get Linux Mint's rendition of 11.04
Been using Linux Mint as my main OS for several years now. Started with Ubuntu, and like playing with it, but when it comes to my day to day, I just want something that works "out of the box" and requires very little tweaking or installing extras...
I'm kinda interested in what time the meetings are looking to be set for....
As someone with an English degree, I like a dose of wit. Whoever came up with the name "LUG Nuts" is a genius! Who created that "Linux Inside" logo? Brilliant.
I'm okay with bi-monthly meetings. Regular installfests for new releases would be good too. I like that the group won't just be focused on Ubuntu. Linux Mint or Pinguy OS might be my next distro.
Sounds good to me! :)
Cheers
