Hands down, it's the best open source ecommerce package out there. However, like every gnu package, it has its quirks. I found it to be a pig on apache so I put it on IIS with its own application pool - seems to have solved the problem.

we're looking at launching a managed magento package, so we've been doing some research... just wanted some local kine feedback. how'd you like it overall?

Sure, plenty. Got tired of fighting with oscommerce spaghetti code. What are you trying to do?

A couple, though none comes really close to doing all for a true cluster, truly better than dedicated without any VPS-like or proprietary-like limitations. (Sorry won't name which ones, we are keeping our R&D on this to ourselves, as it's a huge investment.)

Sounds interesting. What solutions are you testing?

...and of course the network/data centre for cloud fully redundant, so two network layers (so any network failure not affecting it), etc.. Basically, not having any single point of failure.
And, geographically scaleable, so can repliate/clone servers accross data centres, and can do geographic clusters on top of local data centre cluters (which we alreayd offer for dedicated).

..and so much more, but don't get me started on this.

We are working on this though (R&D) intently, evaluating several solutions and working on plans on building our own primarily - as so far no one does it right and completely.
