Steve Jobs publishes some 'thoughts on Flash'... many, many thoughts on Flash

Point #1 from Steve is so funny I nearly choked on my tongue, "While Adobe's Flash products are widely available, this does not mean they are open, since they are controlled entirely by Adobe and available only from Adobe. By almost any definition, Flash is a closed system." This is roughly analogous to Amy Winehouse refusing to hang out with someone because they are too much of a druggie.

This diatribe by Jobs is kind of a quaint read today. Adobe released the 10.1 player several months ago and the mobile device market quickly responded so now we can see and interact with Flash sites and content. Samsung and others are releasing tablets that do everything the ipad does, but are compatible with Flash [sic: competition in the marketplace]. Mobile data speeds are going 4G across the board so loading Flash content will be easier than ever and we aren't hearing the doom and gloom crash stories he refers to. Yet At&t, currently the ONLY carrier for iphone, just got failing reviews in the latest Consumer Reports. Perhaps Apple jumping ship to Verison will smooth those waters.

BTW, if the OS  at the core of a business model in all of the products crashes when a customer wants to see something in Flash, how is that Adobe's fault? How about fix the glitch with the OS.

It's like arrogantly telling customers "not to hold it that way" when a design flaw causes the antenna to be blocked when someone simply holds the phone to make a call.

In the meantime, while Apple's stock keeps going up I'm still not convinced and not an ifanboi. But I'm learning C++ and Objective C just in case they succeed in Steve Jobs' dream of global domination with him as supreme tyrannical leader.

Just don't send him an email..you might get a visit by the Apple Police.
