The West Hawaii Tech Pau Hana has a new name and a web site: Kona Science Cafe.  (konasciencecafe.org).  Check it out for announcements of upcoming pau hanas and video of previous ones.  (preview: there are two in February)

Here's another Facebook group, this one is for the Hawaii Island Game Developer group.

The Facebook group is open to everyone, even if you can't physically attend our meet ups in Hilo on the Big Island.

Please feel free to join, or share the link with your game developer friends.

Hawaii Tech Exchange has a Slack Group for Hawaii Island discussions. There are channels for App and Game Development, Robotics, Writing, Web Design, and other topics.

Slack has clients for Web, Mobile and Tablet. It's also compatible with IRC and several other open chat platforms.

If you'd like to join in the conversation, send an email to SLACK@HITX.CO and you'll get a reply from Slack with instructions on how to join the group.

Get Hyped. The Hawaii Island Game Developer Meetup Group is doing our 2nd Annual Game Jam.

Stop out to our October 29th Meetup in Hilo at the Hawaii Tech Exchange to meet local game developers and pick the themes for this year's event. Share and get feedback on your game throughout the winter holidays and show off your work at our January 28th meeting.

Join the meetup.com group to RSVP and keep in touch with follow game developers. We just recently hit 60 members.

Hawaii Island Game Developer Meetup

There are always tech events going on at the Hawaii Tech Exchange. App development, Web development, Robotics, design, writing, and more. Check our schedule of upcoming events for more info.

Just a reminder for Big Island folks, especially those on the east side of the island:

The Hawaii Island Game Developer Meetup is the last Thursday of each month. Next meeting is Thursday, January 29th at The Exchange in Hilo.

The Refresh: Web Design and Development Meetup is the second Tuesday of each month. Next meeting is Tuesday, February 10th also at The Exchange in Hilo.

We generally have 2-4 events each week at The Hawaii Tech Exchange, right across the street from the Lyman Museum in downtown Hilo. Check out our schedule of events and stop by.

Don: I'd like to see more Hawaii Island tech, science, and "STEM" business events listed on TechHui.

So would we. We don't have a bulk upload for the Events section, but if you can give us a RSS feed for the HITX events page we can easily display it in this group for coverage of all Big Island STEM events, and then you can post the featured events in the general Events area as you currently do (and we will continue to feature them.) There are some people on Oahu who occasionally hop over to the Big Island and Maui for interesting tech events. Mika and I have been known to do that :-)
