Job Description - Ruby Developer
Job Title: Software Developer
Chi.mp is seeking a full-time developer with experience in Ruby and Ruby on Rails. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and deploying at least one Rails application to a production environment and will be experienced with test-driven development. Primary responsibilities include implementation of new functionality in existing Rails applications, refactoring and aggressive optimization of existing application code and integration with third-party social networks.
Annual Salary: Salary will be commensurate with the individual’s experience.
Qualifications:
Work Experience: At least 5 years of professional software development with experience in developing production-quality stable web applications.
Technology: Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails is required. Python experience is a plus. Additional experience in other programming languages is expected. Open source experience is a benefit.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

Thanks Greg but our strong preference is to build our in-house team. We have used contractors and consultants in the past and we find that employees demonstrate more passion and commitment to the project when the chips are down. I'm not knocking all of the talented contractors out there but what we want are long term members dedicated to making chi.mp a success.
Chi.mp launched open registration last week and we have had an incredibly positive response...positive press coverage in Tech Crunch, Mashable, PC Mag, New York Times, even People Magazine...and blowing past all our growth estimates for the launch. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who has been doing contract work to find a home on the 'ground floor' in a start-up with a bright future.
