Off-Grid Smart Micro Grid

This month, Paul Ponthieux, CTO of Blue Planet Research at Pu`uwa`awa`a Ranch, will discuss the system that is taking the ranch off grid. It consists of a large array of photovoltaic panels and wind generation backed by a vanadium redox flow battery and hydrogen production.

Paul is a mechanical engineer with background in architecture and sustainable design.  He is also working on the NASA/PISCES/HI-SEAS Mars Habitat on Mauna Loa, and may say a few words about it as well.

This pau hana is BYOB/potluck, so please bring a pupu and beverage to share.  Reusable plates and cups are encouraged, as is taking home your own trash.
