Topic: Lunar Rovers on Hawaii Island
Presenter: Dr. Tibor Pacher, CEO, Puli Space Technologies
A couple of months ago, Rob Kelso of PISCES told us about using Hawaii Island as a training ground for space exploration. This month, we will get to hear from someone who is doing just that. Puli Space Technologies of Hungary is developing technologies to routinely send spacecraft to the moon. They are competing in the Google Lunar X Prize, a competition for privately funded teams to land a rover on the moon. The team is on Hawaii Island for a little practice.
Dr. Tibor Pacher is CEO and team leader of Puli Space Technologies. He was trained as a physicist at the University of Heidelberg and worked on the European Space Agency's Infrared Space Observatory mission. He also consults on software systems to support management and financial accounting processes.
This pau hana is BYOB/potluck, so please bring a pupu and beverage to share. Reusable plates and cups are encouraged, as is taking home your own trash.
