HTDC’s SBIR Gathering is an informal information sharing and networking event to help Hawaii firms succeed in the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program
You know that SBIR is a great source for funding--but are you limiting your funding opportunities by participating with just one agency? Did you know there are 11 SBIR agencies? (not including DoD's 13 and HHS's 4 sub-agencies) The technology that you are working on today may also be of interest to other SBIR agencies that fund broad technology areas. For example, renewable energy development is supported by all SBIR agencies.
Meet our keynote sharer Heidi Kuehnle, President of Kuehnle AgroSystems and a multiple SBIR awardee, who will share her experiences in using SBIR funding from DoD, USDA and NSF to expand her business from University IP-based to a growing player in the renewable energy sector. Learn about the opportunities, challenges and realities in working with the different SBIR agencies. (And don't forget--you can apply for proposal preparation assistance from HTDC to increase your chances of success!)
Future announcements to be made: 2011 Hawaii SBIR Conference and summer and fall federal funding-related workshops
Networking session to follow
$5 donation for pizza and soda
