Introduction to iOS Development
With over 130 million iOS devices sold worldwide the market is wide open for amazing apps. In this session, you will get a global perspective on how iOS is impacting the world, look at how various education institutions are teaching development and learn about the development tools, frameworks, and resources available to developers. We'll end by looking at several apps that are pushing the boundaries of this platform. This introductory talk is geared toward a general audience. Coding experience is helpful but not required.
About the Speaker:
Charles Du is the Development Executive for Mobile at Apple. With over 10 years of experience in mobile, he has expertise in app design, entrepreneurship, and education technology. Prior to Apple, Charles spearheaded many successful education efforts at NASA, including the design and implementation of NASA's first iPhone app leading to over 2 millions downloads. Subsequently, he helped Singularity University infuse disruptive learning technologies and cofounded multiple mobile startup companies ranging from location-based, real-time commerce to on-demand, peer-to-peer transportation. Charles's work has been featured in Popular Science, Inc., Entrepreneur magazine and has given talks at Stanford, UCLA, and Art Center College of Design. He is a passionate soccer player and an avid rock climber.
