Aloha,

I've been to a few and am attending the one on April 23rd. For more info: http://www.hvca.org/myGrid.aspx?base=Luncheons

Just interested in talking shop with others within TechHui who may be in attendance or those considering attending.

George,

I just joined that organization and I'm considering attending my first one next month. Don't really have much more to add, but perhaps you do? The next one is being called a "pitch fest". Do the meetings always have themes?

I attend almost every meeting and have been for several years. It is worth attending for the bread pudding alone. But in fact it seems like I make a great contact or learn something new every month. This group has absolutely been the most important source of contacts and information for me since I moved to Hawaii. I'd describe the crowd thusly: 1/3 entrepreneurs, 1/3 investors, and 1/3 people trying to sell something to entrepreneurs and investors.

There is a chance to socialize at the beginning. Then everyone introduces themselves. Then there is a presentation of some sort, then more socializing.

Highly recommended, Joe Bob sez check it out.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Just one question: Who's Joe Bob?
Joe Bob Briggs, the original Drive-In Movie Critic. Offline for what, a decade? but check out his old stuff:

Of course! An important cultural icon, (so of course I wouldn't be up on such matters). I'm going to try and attend this months, but if not I'll be at another one shortly. Thanks again!
The meetings do usually have themes and I've been to two. I'm an entrepreneur and an investor so these pitch fests seem like they would be up my alley. Mainly though I'm using it to expand my network and that's also why I posted this question.

Hope to see you there. Also hope to see you there too Ken.

Aloha, George
