ActivityRez: VP of Software Engineering

Job Description
This position entails team leadership, software architecture, implementation, deployment management, development of best operational practices, testing and documentation of non-trivial systems with heavy scalability requirements.
Successful applicants will have a proven track record with non-trivial PHP projects, be comfortable with agile development methodologies, have a solid grounding in OO software architecture / design patterns and be comfortable with the PHP technology stack from front to back. Most importantly, candidates must have a passion for programming. Our interviews are rigorous, so only serious developers with the requisite skills need apply.

Requirements
- Experience as a tech lead on PHP projects
- A solid grounding in OO software architecture / design patterns
- Experience designing and implementing successful non-trivial PHP projects
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Deep knowledge of the PHP tech stack and, ideally, the Phalcon framework
- Firm grasp of all aspects of application security and PCI compliance
- Must be able to make sound technical decisions based on business requirements and dynamic environment.
- Must be able to lead development team to ship quality software in a timely fashion.
- Must be able to work with nebulous requirements and produce solid specifications for intermediate-level developers.
- Preferred: Familiarity with front end web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript & CSS
- Preferred: Experience in the travel & tourism industry
- Preferred: Experience with other popular web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails
