If Everything Worked Like Designer Vendor-Client Relationships

What would it be like if every service industry worked like IT and interactive design vendor-client relationships?

This video had me simultaneously laughing and crying. Thank you for the link Scott.

Yes. I've heard "the taco stand was only $5" line more than once ;-)

Nice. I seen you in meetings like these before Dan.

Flavors of this have definitely come up in my client engagements! It really brings home how crazy professional service negotiation tactics are when put in other commercial contexts. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to remember these anecdotes for when times get strange during project negotiations and accounts receivables.

Cheers!

HAHAHAHA !!!

"Beef same thing"
Sir.. you had the Fillet !?
"cow"....

"I went through and line iteme'd some of the stuff that we can just remove"

"what we need you to do is show us how you made this.. so we can do it on our own, in house, from now on"

This is hilarious !
Well.. IF this were not so accurate right now for us, this would be even more funny !

We just had a client (a church... of all things) write me an email and say that in their opinion our "MOU" is not an actual contract... and therefore its not legally binding in a court of law... and therefore they are canceling their service and by the way, not going to pay for the past 5 months of service that they owe. Now they are going to have the ministers nephew set up something (I hear a spreadsheet) so they can do the same thing "in house".

Video = funny
Reality = painful

We are out several thousand dollars that we were counting on. It would probably cost us more to take them to court than what they owe us. I think they have 2 or 3 lawyers on their board of directors.

Anyone have an extra few thousand they care to donate to a hard working non profit org that makes a positive impact into the community ?

This is hilarious, but painfully true.
