I'm in Kona, actually, but come to business to Oahu periodically. You may want to check out my presentation at www.hvca.org. It'll give you a sense of my orientation regarding socially and environmentally conscious business here in Hawaii.

Aloha...

Hi Mika,
Many thanks for the warm welcome... I actually know Truman through some friends at church and he's been trying to get me on here for a while. I'm looking forward to being part of the community!

Hi Mika,
Sorry it took me a while to respond! Yes, I work with Dan mostly. I have talked with Peter Kay a few times. I am really happy with the HCI community here.

it's an interactive art piece that i worked on with a group a few years ago called the "fantastic piano". i have since dubbed it a musical instrument for the talentless :) it consists of the 6 cylinders filled with water (and glitter for visual effect), 6 IR sensors on the black platform in front of the cylinders, 6 pumps connected underneath each cylinder, an arduino, lights, and speakers. when you trip the sensors with hand movements (think conductor), notes sound, the pumps generate bubbles that move the glitter in the water, and you can control the decibels by proximity to the sensors. the best part of that project was a perfect team and the unexpected result that anyone can play it and make it sound GREAT. thanks for the interest :)
