Oh yes -- in the "Hawaii is a Small Place" Department, I was a year behind the Mayor at Fern Elementary in Kalihi -- where the Mayor announced today his candidacy for Governor. Fern was also the first Mayor of Honolulu, a great individual (his photo is at Honolulu Hale).

From Fern I continued on to Kalakaua Intermediate and Farrington, and therefore I never have to say "I'm sorry" in all of Hawaii.
