IPTL/KCC Course on "Basics of IP Asset Management"

Proper protection and management of IP assets is a critical responsibility for businesses today. This Course is designed especially for general legal practitioners and business owners/managers in innovation and technology industries.
The Intellectual Property & Technology Law (IPTL) Section of HSBA, in partnership with Kapiolani Community College (KCC) is offering a 12-week course in "Basics of Intellectual Property Management" on Thursday evenings, 5:30-7:30 pm, beginning Sept. 16 and consecutive Thursdays (except for Thanksgiving) to Dec. 9. The class location is at KCC Manono Building, Room 104. The fee for the 12-session course is $300, or $30 for any individual session. To register, fill in the registration form and fax it to KCC at 734-9447, or register by phone at 734-9211.
The 12 sessions of the Course will be presented by guest speakers who are experienced IP practitioners in Hawaii. The sessions, dates, and guest speakers are: (1) Introduction to IP Mgmt, 9/16, Leighton Chong: (2) Patents, 9/23, Martin Hsia; (3) Trademarks, 9/30, Phil Li; (4) Copyrights, 10/7, Stephen Street; (5) Trade Secrets, 10/14, Shannon Pierce; (6) Publicity Rights, 10/21, Mark Bernstein; (7) Ethics, Internet & Cultural Issues, 10/28, Seth Reiss; (8) IP Mgmt for Inventors, 11/4, Dr. Robert Yonover; (9) IP Mgmt for Startup Companies, 11/11, Martin Loui; (10) IP Mgmt for Established Companies, 11/18, Sayoko Blodgett-Ford; (11) Sale/Licensing of IP Rights, 12/2, Brad Perkins; and (12) Responsibilites & Duties of IP Mgmt, 12/9, Leighton Chong.

This sounds like a fantastic course for entrepreneurs. TechHui members - getting advice from IP attorneys like Leighton and Sayoko along with entrepreneurs like Robert for $300 is a ridiculously good deal.
