Form D filings per state. If you don't know what a form D is then you've never raised money.

Hawaii doesn't even make it onto the map.

Actually no, my intent was to highlight a case where we're ignored. Mapping programs can handle HI and Alaska when the creator wants them too.
Our results are comparatively good and we are included in the data set. They simply use a graphic of the continental US.
In this just another TechHui thread to bemoan how horrible Hawaii is?
Which is, of course, the real point - we are too small to be noticed, either by geographical size or by the results of our investments. (As noted by Ryan in the comments.)
Let me clarify. I did not say we were 47th. I said Hawaii has 62 Form D filings, of which 51 of them are new.
If you take the 51 new filings divide by our population (1.3 Million), it's a ratio of 39 per million. That puts us ahead of most states on the map.
If you look at that map, only a few states have a very high ratio on this metric.
We're not on the map because the map is only of the Continental US, not because we are so horrible.
WOOT, WE'RE 47!
62 Form D filings from Hawaii in the last year, see: http://www.formds.com/filings/advanced_filter?filters_params[date_s...
Given we have approximately 1.3 Million people, this places us at 47 'new fund raisings per million' people better than NY, PA, Florida and Texas according to this site's graphs/rankings.
