About Me:

Extensive experience in the telecommunications industry spanning over 16 years with specialization in consulting, program management, quality assurance, ESD/EMC hardware design and implementation of ESD control programs. A specialist in the development of training programs and in-house standards for a number of major electronics firms utilizing a light presentation style and trademark real world demonstrations providing a very effective learning environment.

A diverse career while at Research In Motion Limited (RIM) holding positions in the Building Design Engineering Construction group as a Project Manager/Electrical Services Lead specializing in Electrostatic and RF/EMI construction and design elements. Prior to this, a position in the BlackBerry Data Centre group as the Team Lead Data Centre Technologist and was responsible for global implementation and co-ordination of ESD controls and power issues within RIM Data and Call centers. As the Senior ESD Specialist, designed and implemented RIM’s first Class 0 manufacturing site and developed RIM’s Engineering lab procedures for safe and effective handling of ESD sensitive devices. Actively involved with the hardware design and testing of RIM’s past and current products, specializing in the IEC/EN 61000 series standards for electromagnetic immunity focusing on electrostatic protection, components selection, RF and EMI design and SAR (specific absorption rate) requirements for cellular platform devices.

Memberships in the ESD/EOS Association, Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (IQPC) and was a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).

Currently holds two US Patents dealing with Electrostatics and ESD control systems as well as a patent pending dealing with IT cable management systems.

Prior to Research In Motion Limited, I was employed at Grand River Hospital for over 8 years in the Pathology department as a researcher and pathology assistant while undertaking studies in Kinesiology.
