Hi John
Maui+ TOaks? small world. Main reason for maui move is new wife wants to return to island and I want to leave TO. Got a nice place in Haiku last summer and plan to bring tools & tech to start a hackerspace, do small manufacturing (fab lab), training, and maybe some sw dev to pay the bills.
I was there in '81 and worked at the Student Health Center as a Programmer about '88? I think or so they still had everything on cards in PL1and was paying for processing time so I moved everything over to the PC's and to COBOL and processed all the data there then just uploaded it to the database on the Mainframe. I still remember my first Card program which was to make a frog jump in decreasing amounts until a certain distance then stop in Fortran, I still have those cards somewhere haha..
Hi John,
I was a prolific NeXTStep developer and used Objective-C for ten years. Probably my all-time favorite platform. Apple has added a lot, and I need to get back up to speed, but it remains very familiar to me.
Email me at ddgilmore@gmail.com if you want to discuss further.
Thanks!
