- Co-Owner and CTO of Hawaii's largest and most successful vacation rental marketing company, acquired by VacationRoost Inc. in October 2013. At time of acquisition, our entirely bootstrapped company had over $30 million in annual sales. Past travelers range from President Obama to Paris Hilton.
I designed and coded 100% of our websites and web applications, including sales automation, e-commerce, marketing, property-management, and accounting systems. I also created the PHP framework that runs it all.
My unusual ability to visualize an entire application and the many ways users might interact with it -- like thinking many moves ahead in chess -- allows me to develop applications very rapidly while taking into account the what-ifs and pitfalls users may encounter. This ability allows me to code the application in such a way that it is easy to modify and maintain.
I also have 10 years of UX and UI design experience along with a solid understanding of marketing and advanced Google Analytics usage and integration.
During my software consultant years, some of my clients were Activision, AOL, Beatnik, Century 21, Coca-Cola, Coors, DuPont-Nemours, eBay, MaximumPC Magazine, McDonald's, Netscape, NBC, PBS, SprintUSA, and VISA.
Prior to my software career, I spent 5 years in film and television as online editor, audio editor, cameraman, and grip in New York and San Francisco.
