About Me:
Sheesh what can I say I feel like a dinosaur sometimes yet I work with some of the most current stuff. My programming days when I worked as a student at UH I did it on Ugh CARDS!!! which I promptly converted my department to processing their PL1 stuff at the time to Cobol in house so all the time they saved in processing costs in the department went way down! Geez that was long ago.. I was also very lucky to have been able to work for Digital Island when it was around and was one of the Guys taking care of Caching and Streaming Video. Now I am the guy that does all the router work for business circuits, troubleshooting and turn-ups.
Hi, Terrance. When were you at UH? I used cards, too, when I was there as a grad student back in 72. I spent my first couple of professional programming years using coding forms and sending them out for keypunch overnight. At first I wasn't too thrilled when I got a terminal on my desk. I thought, "Oh, great. Now I get to do all my own keypunching". :-)
