I hear what you're saying :-) It's indeed a great change of pace to be there. High-tech on Maui is taking roots and I am confident that it will keep growing.

Hi Mika, thanks for the welcome. I am not sure if you know Greg Hester or not, but he sent me an invite to join in the fun you are having here. I am not on the islands and have actually never been, but I would love to come out there sometime as so many of us do here in the lower 48.

    Mika,

Thanks for the welcome and the link to the FAQ. I notice that your company does Flex programming. I had heard that there have been memory leak problems associated with Flex applications. Has that been your experience? Programming with Flex is something that I am thinking about getting into, so anything that you can share about it would be helpful and appreciated.

As to being the first instructor from HCC to join, there are some others that I will try to encourage to join.
  • Jussi Sipola

Mika, thanks for the welcome! I've been a member since the early days of TechHui, but just recently changed my name :-)

    Mika,
Thanks for the information. I will join some groups. I think I will start with the PHP group because I want to get some feedback on how effective some PHP PDO code I have been using is at preventing SQL injection attacks.

;) the official Google board. I'm working on mine right now, custom board with my logo etc.
It epitomizes my life, as I embrace lifestyle and career. There was a time when I felt a conflict of interest (technology vs da aina). I guess its about balance.
    Thanks for the message...

    Aloha

Thanks for your message, I took your advice and posted the below on the jobs page. Would you know of anyone in particular you could reccomend who could fit the mold for the below? Thankyou very much for the help, I'm grateful:)

I am creating an MMORGP game with a purpose of creating a better world through education and technology. We're in need of very strong flash programmers.

Do you know flash and want to help the world or know of anyone who does? And please send examples of flash work.

    HI Mika,

Yes I'm moving to Hawaii with Superb. Thanks for the site info. I hope to find this place useful but I have a history of not really using forums/social networking sites for any extended period of time. Perhaps this is one of the few places that breaks that pattern.

Hi Mika, thank you for the note. I cover the Lotus portfolio for IBM, which is our collaboration solutions. I make it back to Hawaii about every six weeks. We are currently working on our 2009 calendar, so I will keep you posted. It would be a pleasure to meet the TechHui community.

    Hi Mika,
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I do do ecotours in Hawaii and am a member of the Hawaii Ecotourism Society and Hawaii Visitor's Bureau. I do Ecotours on Kauai, Maui, and Big Island.
My wife's insisting we add snorkeling to our ecotours.

    Aloha Mika!
Thanks for accepting me to Tech Hui. Although I find myself in Virginia these days, my plan is to venture back to Hawaii and make an impact within the Education System on the islands.
