What are some of your WordPress accomplishments? I'm not a WordPress GURU (yet) but I'm proud of a few sites. Here's a Hawaii photographer site that I built which leverages nextgen-gallery and HighSlide. It also reached the second page of Google for "Hawaii Engagement Photography" after only a few weeks. What are your favorite WP sites and what did you use to build them?

True Glimpse is a beautiful site. Nice work! I also like the photography.
Thanks Mika! Elissa (the photographer) is updating her site almost daily. She loves the simple interface to upload and organize photos without having to code anything! WP has been a great solution for photo content management.

Nice site, thanks for sharing!

I have been launching a number of sites on WordPress (think I am up to 50 now), here are my top 3 are:

Some other favorite WordPress sites are:

Would love to see more showcase sites from the TechHui community!
All of you have created very beautiful sites. On the photography site especially, I love the whiteness. Less is more. It really enhances the look of the photos and makes them stand out.

I've used several CMS over the years but recently came back to WP after several years away. Seeing many of the problems my clients were having, I feel that there is a need for information for the average computer user and wanted to write simple tips for them. Since I had a spare domain sitting around with no plans to use it, I thought to build an article featuring my own content using simple English for the average computer user.

I wanted a clean layout with simple colors and not a lot of distractions to the eye in order to focus on the content. Few if any ads. Not looking to make money off the site but if I make the hosting fee, I'd be more than satisfied.

I used an off the shelf theme called Atahualpa and simply played with the top graphic. It didn't come out as clean as I'd like but since I'm still in the building phases and will undoubtedly change it.
The only plugins used are Easy Toolbox, Google XML Sitemaps, Invisible Captcha, OpenID, and WP Forum Server.

The url is http://syspc.net

I have a lot to learn and your comments both good and bad are welcome.
Hey Carl, your site looks great! Thanks for the compliment on the photography site, it has evolved over the past year. I think the ability to change out themes when you get bored with the site style is one of the most powerful features of WordPress. I like your idea of a tutorial for basic users on how to edit in WordPress (that would be very useful for some of my clients). I'm looking forward to following your site and watching it progress!
Thank you Ryan! I appreciate it. Your idea about a WP tutorial for basic users is a good idea. I think I will write about that since there are days that I have no idea what to write about.
Wow great site.  I like the balance of your site.  Are you using a commercial theme?  Newbie here, gratetful to the Wordpress folks and the ongoing development that has made Wordpress such a great platform for newbies like me to learn and build sites.

Wow 50 sites!  Just curious are you using Wordpress MU?  If so are you using the domain mapping plugin?

Mahalo for your feedback.

It's awesome how many Hawaii WordPress webmasters there are here. :)

I've been integrating the Maui real estate MLS into WordPress as a CMS and absolutely love how 3.x is working out. :)

1 Maui Real Estate

Still have tons of work to do, but I'm convinced that WordPress as a CMS is here to stay.

Hey Josh great looking site.  Love the photo browser.  How long have you been building web sites?  When I grow up I want to be like you!

Thank you for checking it out!  Cooliris powers the photo browser and has been an awesome tool to work with (incredible developers API.)  The WordPress API is very impressive as well.  Other than Drupal and vBulletin, it's one of the best I've worked with recently :)

Been building websites for years, but nothing notable really. Lots of little adsense/small business projects here and there.

So are you on Maui?

Cheers!

Josh
